Litigation Support Specialist

Base Salary: $22.5 to $30 Per Hour

Employment Type: Full Time

Work Hours: 8am-5pm

Experience Requirements

The Litigation Support Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support attorneys and the litigation process, including but not limited to:

Processing contested case pleadings, managing multiple attorneys’ calendars, and ensuring timely filing of documents.

Preparing and producing motions, discovery, disclosures, and other litigation-related documents, as well as scheduling court dates.

Reviewing contested case pleadings, documents, and communications to identify opposing parties’ defenses.

Coordinating with attorneys and appearance counsel to ensure appropriate coverage for upcoming court dates.

Managing attorneys’ schedules and finalizing dates for mediations, arbitrations, hearings, trials, and conferences.

Ensuring all necessary documentation is obtained, organized, prepared, and filed throughout the litigation process.

Communicating issues, updates, or potential problems to management and attorneys as they arise.

Ensuring compliance with state-specific filing requirements for each jurisdiction.

Preparing files for litigation, court appearances, reporting, and attorney correspondence.

Tracking and updating case information in Q-Law and other systems.

Conducting case investigations with courts, including checking case status, filing details, and upcoming appearances.

Performing legal research, including identifying proper filing procedures for new and existing states.

Handling administrative tasks such as creating, printing, notarizing, sorting, stapling, and mailing documents.

Assisting team members and providing support on projects or tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 2–3 years of experience in a similar administrative or legal support role.
    • 2–3 years of experience in civil law; civil litigation experience preferred.
    • Previous experience with Q-Law or similar case management systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and filing procedures.
    • Familiarity with multi-state court processes and debt collection regulations preferred.
