Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business or a related discipline required (Master’s degree preferred)

Experience Requirements

  • Human Resources professional with 10+ years of progressive human resources/organization development experience.
  • Previous management experience required; At least 5 years preferred
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Experience in recruiting and HR operations in the U.S. or Canada (at least 5 years of human resources and/or recruiting experience in developing countries preferred).
  • Experience selecting, implementing, and institutionalizing HR IT systems.
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, complex, decentralized and geographically diverse organizational structure.
  • Fluency in English required. Spanish proficiency a plus.
  • Experience in consumer financial services industry a plus.


  • Deep and broad understanding of employment law, recruitment and selection, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and collaboratively about staff development and training.
  • Ability to influence and build credibility at all levels and establish collaborative working relationships.
  • Ability to determine and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.


In addition to overseeing the entire employee-life cycle and developing people-related systems, processes, and metrics that support the achievement of the organization’s business goals and strategic objectives, specific responsibilities will include the following:


  • Partner closely with business line leaders and managers, other leaders of the talent management team, and other stakeholders to support a culture of excellence, engagement, and innovation across the organization. This includes facilitating organizational structure and design discussions with executive leadership team members to achieve these goals.
  • Enhance employee engagement at all offices by regularly meeting and coordinating with other talent management team members to identify and implement best practices at their individual office locations, while developing and integrating the most successful practices and strategies across all offices.
  • Provide leadership, tools, and guidelines to support best practices in human resource management across all offices including the on-going review and management of workplace and employment policies and procedures, domestic and international employment agreements, benefit summaries and compensation guidelines
  • Identify systems and tools, including the use of metrics and people data, to inform key personnel decisions including those related to retention, recruiting, and compensation
  • Lead the development and execution of employee engagement and retention strategies, plans, and initiatives including the design and implementation of training, mentoring and professional development and succession plans.
  • Ensure complete compliance with both the spirit and letter of both U.S. and international labor and employment laws to ensure safe and fair workplaces and excellent employee welfare, wellness and health programs across the globe. This includes oversight of gender equity and workplace diversity requirements and expectations.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the recruiting, selection, and on-boarding processes to deliver qualified candidates for all positions on a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Lead the human resources review and diligence processes for all corporate development and mergers and acquisitions activities, while also collaborating with the talent management teams at newly-affiliated entities to integrate their operations into the global organization.

Minnesota-focused responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the recruiting, selection, and on-boarding processes to deliver qualified candidates for all positions on a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Resolve both day-to-day and complex employee relations issues in a balanced, fair and objective manner, using appropriate listening, communication, counseling, investigative, intervention and mediation techniques as needed.
  • Manage the talent performance management process and identify and implement enhancements of the current approach to provide appropriate evaluation and development plans for all positions.
  • Manage compensation and benefits administration, including periodic review of the company’s 401(K) plan.
  • Other talent management and human resources-related tasks and initiatives that are identified from time to time.

  • Exposure to interviewing techniques, knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment.
